Additive Manufacturing

We Are the Industry Leader in Additive Manufacturing

Hoosier Pattern paved the way in additive manufacturing by unveiling a S-Max™ 3-D sand printer in 2013. We are proud to have been the first shop in the Americas to own and operate a 3D sand printer in-house. This innovative piece of equipment opened the door for an entirely new form of manufacturing. It has changed the industry by solving many problems that have previously made parts too costly or too difficult to machine.

As an early adopter of this state-of-the-art equipment and revolutionary new manufacturing process, Hoosier Pattern found ourselves at the forefront of the additive manufacturing movement.

We have used this as motivation to continue pursuing the best up-and-coming technologies in additive and subtractive manufacturing.

But it won’t stop there! We are dedicated to providing our clients with the most diverse and advanced technology that manufacturing has to offer. These advancements mean you can expect to see more from us in future years, which is especially true for the exciting new world of additive manufacturing, so stay up-to-date by reading our blog or chatting with us at one of our many trade shows!

Benefits of Additive Manufacturing

At Hoosier Pattern, we take your designs and create molds and cores all under the same roof. Even parts that were previously too complex or challenging to tool can be completed in-house thanks to our unique additive manufacturing processes.

Unlike subtractive manufacturing, which can be expensive and time-consuming, additive manufacturing allows for quick turnarounds and cost-effective parts. It is the perfect option for anyone working through the prototyping process or facing a tight deadline. In fact, our 10-day turnaround time for additive manufacturing has been a game-changer for many of our clients.

That’s not to say that subtractive manufacturing isn’t still valuable. At Hoosier Pattern, we offer both traditional foundry tooling and additive manufacturing technologies — making us the perfect choice to help you determine the best process for your unique project.

3D Sand Printing

We design and create molds and cores, bypassing the fabrication of a pattern with our 3D sand printing technology. Prototype designs simultaneously can be sand printed quickly and at a cheaper cost than conventional subtractive manufacturing methods.
