3D Printer World has a great piece up on their website about an outstanding new documentary, "Print the Legend". This highly entertaining film, now available to view on Netflix, has won awards at all the Film Festivals that the documentary has been shown. "The film focuses on the race between 3D printer manufacturers MakerBot and Formlabs to take over the leading role in bringing manufacturing to the consumer. The plot follows the principals of the companies as they take on established players like Stratasys and 3D Systems for a share of the booming 3D printing market. From printing guns and human organs, to "dismantling the world's industrial infrastructure, the next Industrial Revolution," Print the Legend follows the stories of the human beings building an industry from the ground up." 2014 has seen a veritiable explosion in interest from both consumers and manufacturers in the capabilities of 3D printing and the impact that is has and will continue to have on all aspects of Manufacturing. HPI, strongly believes in this new emerging technology and we invite you to see what we can do for you and your industry. Whether you require hard tooling or additive manufacturing, HPI is truly your "one stop shop" for all your tooling needs.
In the American Foundry Society's November/December newsletter, Denise Kapel interviewed our very own Steve Murray about new rapid manufacturing methods in an article title, "Sprint to the Finish: Rapid manufacturing methods streamline low volume production".
Denise writes, "Metalcasters and casting buyers have more options than ever before among the methods for making molds and cores. This specialized area relies on skilled, knowledgeable staff as well as current technology."
With the best team in the industry and the most advanced technologies on the market, Hoosier Pattern is primely positioned to help our clients move forward into the next generation of rapid prototyping with reduced costs and shorter lead times.
As Murray described, Hoosier Pattern's 3-D sand printing has many benefits, especially " . . . if it’s going to be over a little bit of time, we all know that as soon as the engineer gets feedback on those first machines out in the industry, he’s going to make changes. Looking ahead, that could amount to many changes over a five or seven-year span, leading to significant tooling costs. If we use rapid prototyping technology, you wouldn’t have to change the tooling. We would just print a new one, and off you go."
It's just one of the many ways that Hoosier Pattern is leading the way in the rapid prototyping industry, and we feel honored to have been included in the American Foundry Society's article.

Hoosier Pattern takes pride in the many businesses that we serve and as we expand into new frontiers we carry our vision and expertise into new ones. The Performance Racing Industry is one that we are very excited about. PRI is currently (Dec.11-13) showcasing all their bells and whistles in Indianapolis where "1100 companies will display the latest advances in racing products and race engineering. Engine parts, suspension components, data acquisition, safety gear, new metal alloys and coatings, machining equipment, race electronics—it’s all part of the world’s largest racing trade show." HPI's dedicated road warriors set up shop at The Indiana Convention Center in Indy and they sent us these great shots of the HPI booth. While hard tooling remains a core business for HPI and coupled with the advances that we have spearheaded in the revolutionary world of 3-D printing, we offer to a wide spectrum of industries, 360 degrees of solutions for all your casting needs. Enjoy the pixs, we have and hope you will. Gotta love them engine blocks cast by Dalton Foundry for PSI and Blueprint Engine!
