Additive Manufacturing

An Industry Leader in Additive Manufacturing

Hoosier Pattern, Inc. paved the way in additive manufacturing with the unveiling of our new S-Max™ 3-D sandprinter in 2013.  Hoosier Pattern is proud to have been the first shop in the Americas to own and operate a 3D sand printer in-house. This innovative piece of equipment opened the door for an entirely new form of manufacturing and changed the industry by solving many of the problems that had previously made parts too costly or too difficult to machine.

As an early adopter of this state-of-the-art equipment and revolutionary new manufacturing process, Hoosier Pattern, Inc. found ourselves at the forefront of the additive manufacturing movement.  We have used this as motivation to continue in our pursuits for the best up and coming technologies in both additive and subtractive manufacturing. This pursuit more recently led us to the purchase of our latest additive manufacturing equipment, our FDM printer, in January of 2016.

But it won’t stop there!  Hoosier Pattern is dedicated to providing our clients and customers with the most technologically-advanced and diverse offering of manufacturing technologies possible.  That means you can expect to see even more from us in the years to come. This is especially true for the exciting new world of additive manufacturing, so make sure to stay in touch with us by reading our blog or by chatting with us at one of our many trade shows!

Benefits of Additive Manufacturing

What makes Hoosier Pattern, Inc. unique is that a project can go from prototype to hard tooling all under the same roof.  Even parts that were previously too complex or difficult to tool can be completed in-house thanks to our unique additive manufacturing processes.

Unlike subtractive manufacturing which can be expensive and time-consuming, additive manufacturing allows for quick turnarounds and cost-effective parts.  It is the perfect option for anyone working through the prototyping process, facing a tight deadline, or interested in a low volume run (10 - 500 units/yr).  In fact, our 10-day turnaround time for additive manufacturing has been a game changer for many of our clients, including Dalton Foundry.

That’s not to say that subtractive manufacturing isn’t still valuable.  At Hoosier Pattern, Inc., we offer both traditional foundry tooling and new additive manufacturing technologies - making us the perfect choice to help you determine the best process for your unique project.  With Hoosier Pattern, you can trust that you are getting the method of manufacturing best suited to your project’s needs and budget.
